We rest and get a bit more information for a few nice gems.

We are led to location of bettlemen. It is ancient dwarven mines, now inhabited by the remnants of a goblin tribe decimated a few times by the beetlemen.

The location has a doorway into a room of ancient dwarven design with a button that disintegrates all in the room. There is a vacuum cleaner bot that is only active when there are ashes to clean up.

The goblins advise us that the beetlemen have driven them from their home and made it their nest. We use the berserker to operate a winch to go down to the level with the crfeatures.

We find two damaged berserkers and Thorfus orders one monkey to take the head from one and the other to get the other ready for the head.

The first beetleman confuses Thorfus, Sturloc, and Kottar. Miraculously, it can’t hit thorfus.

Amodeus hits it with continual light, and it is a slow slog. The female joins the fight, and after prompting the monkey to fix the berserker, Edan cast lightning bolt and drops the first beetleman. The female is badly hurt and several of the eggs on her back burst.

Amodeus cast continual light into it’s eye, and Edan hit it with magic missile. It fled just before Amodeus cast web.

Thorfus was hit hard by the female, and has stood confused in spite of being hasted by Prixithalma.

Thankfully, no one in a confused state has managed to hurt another or themselves.

Betty was enlarged to giant size by Prixithalma and is ready to give chase to the female.

Nash was wounded and Lambertus healed him a bit.

Will we catch the female and get the eggs? Will we find eggs in the nest?

Where is the third beetleman the goblins mentioned?

We learned from the goblins that the silence are squid faced brain eaters who are former servants o the ancient dwarves who now make war on them.

After resting and healing, the party continues west, and comes upon a group of drow questioning some deep gnomes and a half-orc Lilly/Brenda/Bavmorda.

We defeat the drow and the leader and one other escape. One of the gnomes is slain. One of the Monkeys is smashed. The other monkey and the berserker are injured. Amodeus agrees to use the wand of mending to fix the berserker and working monkey. Axel was severely injured and was healed up.

Edan becomes very ill, and the gnomes tell us that it is “stone sickness.” They take us to their lair and meet with their leader, Willems. We learn that they have a cure, but it requires the eggs of beetle men. They are large and tough.

We need at least 3 eggs. All of us that have psionics most likely have stone sickness. Thorfus and Nash then become ill. We plan to get enough eggs to take the cure back to those on the surface.

We also learn that the Dark King, or someone with a circlet greater than Thorfus’ slew a dragon and went into the ship before it exploded. We hope that means the dark king was slain. The drow were sent down to see if anyone got away from the ship. They did not think it was going to result in anything until we showed up.

We also learn that there is a faction called “The Silence” that has something to do with the ancient dwarves and things beyond the world.

Willems, the gnome leader is not one that we can trust. Prix doesn’t like the situation, but we have to trust the fix can truly save us. Prix said the ancient dwarves had their own cure for this.

This is a mess we rest up and hope to quickly defeat the creatures, and avoid more drow, and being betrayed by the gnomes to the “Hidden Ones” AKA ancient dwarves/Council of 12/ Lords of the Silver Throne.

8:20 PM, 22nd Masrilden Dwarven clock still at zeroes & 3.23.

Three Dragons will arrive at Dawn, c. 6 AM.

We moved the skiff with the back in front of the opening and Chuq and Axel stay behind to coordinate defenses. Myrientaxus stands guard at the front. Thorfus sets one monkey on front and one each side, and the fourth on patrol.

We go to opening and the rope is hanging against a different side of the hallway. Thorfus asks Edan to look for traps and he finds none.

Thorfus is surprised by falling on the bed when he steps in, the ship has a different “down”.

Thorfus helps Owen and Laurente in so they can help the others in while Thorfus peeks around the hallway, there are faint green lights on each door control.

Thorfus goes to an open door and see three hideous bat like creatures with human-like heads. He attacks and does a lot of damage. It fights back and the other two do nothing. It does a bit of damage to Thorfus. Thorfus hits hard and is helped by Nash. Thorfus hits hard and it still does not go down. thorfus hits again and drops it, the other two attack Nash mentally and he flees in panick, followed by his man servant.

Suddenly, down changes to the down we first encountered here. All fall, Owen is knocked unconscious, Laurente grabs the rope, and Lambertus and Thorfus fall to the first set of partially open double doors. Nash and his servant are already at the bottom. Thorfus managed to close the door before he falls, trapping the bat-like creatures. Before this sudden change, Thorfus noted the presence of an information reliquary (cube) and a gold circlet.

Lambertus heals Thorfus a bit, adn Laurente takes Owen outside, and Thorfus directs them to not bring Prix inside until we solve the changing gravity issue.

We open a door to try to get into a room that we hope has a door to the room on the other side of the glass at the bottom of the pit/end of the hall. Inside is a table fastened to the wall/floor and chairs, coins, bone dice, and an information cube (reliquary). Thorfus retrieves the reliquary and the power comes back changing down again. Thorfus opens the door to the “bridge”.

Edan learns that the cube is a flight simulator for the ship. Thorfus finds a gold circlet on the former captain and puts it on and is assaulted by what is something like another gold circlet. Thorfus asks Edan if he knows where the skull cap is to help fight the other circlet. Edan agrees. Serithaz fights off the other entity, but comes back begging me to take off the circlet as the other thing seems to surround us and is not locallized. He detects a monkey “north” and level unknown. He also detects a dwarven warrior that is down. Thorfus puts the ring back on to block Serithaz after telling him he is doing so, Serithaz thanks him for the courtesy. Before that Serithaz said that Edan better practice what’s on the cube before we try to fly the ship.

Thorfus also take the dragon armor with dwarven stone brooch and a magic longsword from the former captain. Nash takes a thick platinum armband from the captain. When Nash sits in the captain’s chair it comes alive and each are opens, one with a tablet with a menu listing a long string of items in a damage report. The other holds an information reliquary. Nash’s servant gathers up all the gold and platinum coins in the one room.

Thorfus chooses deck plan and we learn that we are on the mid-deck and there is one deck above and one below. The engines occupy all three levels at the rear/top of the ship. Edan makes a record of the deck plans in common. We find the cloning chamber, two fighter launch bays, two beserker launch bays, medical bay, engineering, etc.

Edan reviews the cube and it is the final flight plan. The ship was re-commissioned to fight in the rebellion against the dwarves. It has the last known good authorization codes for Xeno Tel, with docking instructions. It appears that it was shot down, but couldn’t determine details.

It was at this moment that power went out and the gravity changed. Thorfus quickly checked with Serithaz and the lack of power did not affect the other gold-circlet level entity.

We left off and it was 10:03 PM with just under 8 hours until the dragons arrive.

Thorfus is wanting to find the monkey and take care of the gold-circlet level entity so we can safely make enough clones to restore Prixithalma, perhaps get control of a berserker and fighters to be able to deal with the approaching dragons…..

We confirm that Kalgunn is not with us. After talking with Kottar/Araquiel, we think that Kalgunn is in the containment cube for the gold dragon.

We heal up and rest up. Over night Mirientaxus sensed something watching us, and while we were ferried in 4 groups over 2 hours to the edge of Jagger’s lands, on the 5th day of the festival.

Thorfus reads the pass and the road appeared and we walked to the tower. We got cleaned up and had lunch with Jagger. Jagger tells us that there is a skilled magic user there, and one of the servants lets slip she is an imperial. Allison Hayne.

Ronan gets a cure poison and cure disease potion from Jagger.

Dwarves of theater company were there and are preparing a play at Jagger’s request about the fall of the ancient dwarven empire. Thorfus and Chug give input. Allison likes Thorfus’ suggestions and is displeased with Chuq’s suggestions. The dwarves excuse themselves to work on their play. They plan to leave with next barge downriver in about two weeks. They will return to Xenilum Khel.

During dinner, dwarves of theater company mention that the mines of Glavnung were built by and for the Dwarves and that Silverthrone should reclaim it for the dwarves.

Amelia accompanies us to Jagger’s tower. Jagger agrees to return her to human form after dinner. Amelia wants it and if she dies just wants us to tell Canis that she was dead when we found her, and that if she lives, she will tell him.

While fiddling with the preparations and working on it, Thorfus pops off his ring, making it look like fiddling, and questions the machine that is full of anger, and that there is no guarantee it will work. Thorfus observed the machine, which focused thought on Thorfus.

Amelia fails her save and does not die, but loses 2 points of Constitution.

Edan contracts with Allison to train.

Chuq then recalled that he has a magic ring of protection that would have made a difference on the save for Constitution.

Chuq has his strength enhanced by one, and now has a big scar on his face.

Thorfus has his strength increased by two to 18, with no major scaring.

Ronan adds dragon blood from Mirentaxus and has some scaring. It is an as-yet unknown positive feature. He decides to incorporate Wyvern scales, with an unknown positive feature, and elects to boost his strength, now 18.

Axel wasn’t able to take action on this as Antony has internet issues, so he will inform us later.

8:15 PM 4th day of Holiday

On side of mountain, Chuq & Thorfus attempt to face the “wind”.

Glavnung calls it a wind devil and they protect their territory, the top of mountains. We flee, it follows for a ways, but does not attack.

We see Marientaxus inthe distance and use the Starchy badge to signal. He lands and we explain the situation. He agress to bring Glavnung along.

Suddenlty 3 lightning bolts from 3 draw hit Marientaxus. We fire our bows, and Mireintasus breathes lightning and drops one.

One of the two that remains, appears to cast continual light on the ground, but it is actually a portal. Several drow emerge and Edan casts ice storm and some fall and are injured, with one falling to his death.

An unnaturally tall dwarf in power armor follows behind the drow. He has a glowing gem somewhere on his head. A voice from the broachy talky again invites Thorfus to join him. He flips a switch and then there are four of him with a sword like that.

Glavnung flees downhill. We managed to all reach Marientaxus who flies us back to his mountain.

Ronan is healed but wakes thinking we are demons, and he strikes down Belisente, who we rush to aid. Thorfus grapples Ronan and Ronan is bound.

We begin to discuss our options, and plan to leave the mountain tomorrow.

We found that the broachy talky allows the mad king to talk to us, but not see us.

Edan tries to ask Kalgun a question, but Kalgun is not there. Did he go into the dragon, another magical device, an undying?

Marientaxus, Kottar, and Prixathalma will go in one direction, and the rest of use plan to go to the illusionists, and train, and perhaps get modifications.

There will be much to discuss in coming days….
