  1. I wonder what Kalgun will say after I “show” him what we saw.

I’m not sure how we’re going to do this – but we need to find a way and a place where Edan can work on and create our ship. I’m sure that Between Kalgun, Aldus and Edan they can figure out a better powersource for the engines and the secret to the Glass-steel(TM). Edan figures we can speed things up by cannibalizing the submarine’s powersource, air-creation/filtration and controls. Edan also figures we can build a ship by combining the shell of the sub with a longboat – the trick will be making it air tight. Making the Joly Gorgon fly may prove to be more difficult and hard to hide – but he’s not adverse to “improving” it with engines and weaponry, lateral sails could be used to stabilize the ship and have it fully fly.

Speaking of which – Edan has the plans to the big gun-wielding automatons so he could make those, though he wishes he had time to examine the “electric” gun from Dept.X and Weland – he’s sure he could fashion those into deck weapons of some kind.

I hate to say it – but we’re going to need those monkeys and a forge or two, possibly even a kiln.

Also – I keep thinking that there may be something we missed about Evenkeel’s wife – I may want to “visit” her sarcophagus, but I’d like to ask Aldus some questions about what was entombed with her first.

Anyways – I’ve got a lot to think about and I’ll be posting why pops up here.

  2. Some thoughts/answers:

    – Aldus Runnelbrook will not remember entombing anything special with his second wife. Having grown up in a jungle village, she had simple tastes and he respected that when burying her.

    – In case the party has forgotten, the monkey automata are usually quite competent when given mechanical or construction tasks and left to work on their own (assuming the instructions are very specific)

    – Jardin has made it very clear that the imperial navy is cannibalizing Ancient Dwarven artifacts kept by the Dragon Emperor; so their is some precedent to that approach

  3. We know where there are gorilla blacksmith automatons in Xen Khel. Monkey’s bring them stuff to forge.

Assuming we could “replace” Marchmain, if Axel or Thorfus is the right size. It may be less dangerous to get Marchmain to let us work to go to the orbital fortress. Once we explain how his lies lead us to a massive misunderstanding, and we didn’t realize that our actions doomed the planet, he might let us work….

We do have a secret way in (Finkleworm tunnels) so maybe we can go to the work rooms….

It might be better to go to Agmar’s Folly and scavenge the bits of glass steel and metal that the Shahuagin don’t use….

Soo many options, so little time….

  4. Sorry about falling asleep again at the end there.

I really am the only one remembering Kottar, and just as importantly, Prix ‘The Consort.’

That said, I do agree that an airship be prioritised. Maybe with our riches we could pay the Cock and Bull blacksmiths to help us out. Orsabet is an armourer, true, but its a forge.

  5. No I know, I understand. It just seems like there is always something else to do (which is always our problem, to be honest). Every day wasted is another day for the trail to go cold or them to fall into the wrong hands.

It’s a bit of a balancing act to be fair. I’d almost recommend splitting the party if this was any other game.

  6. Sounds like a solid plan to me … let me suggest starting by splitting up to explore the estate.

Fred = Chuq (always some crazy plan involving a trap)

Daphne = Axel (always gets kidnapped)

Velma = Edan (always convinced there’s a scientific explanation)

Shaggy = Ronan (just wants a damn scooby snack)

Scooby = Thorfus (unofficial leader of the group)
