Other things with next session:
Thorfus will make sure that his fancy clothes are clean and polish up his armor, etc. He will make sure none of the hirelings know where the hidey hole is.
He will retrieve the stuff he stored at Thornton’s while we were gone.
He will trade in his share of the imperial coins, and give 10 gp to each sailor on the fleet and 10 gp to each of his hirelings, and 100 gp to the one with the bum leg. He will inquire as to what he plans to do now, and if possible, work him into Thorfus’ and company’s long term plans. Perhaps a job as a gardener, lookout, etc. of whatever long term base we establish.
Thorfus is interested in what is going on at Grell’s place and will find out what anyone knows about Archer’s Irregulars.
Thorfus will want a supply of holy water and silver edged weapons for all his hirelings before going to deal with Grell’s place.
If Giacomo had any family, Thorfus will make sure to get a portion of treasure to them, as well as Giacomo’s belongings. Where was Giacomo from?
Resolution of the sword of dagon is also on his mind. We need to come to an agreement on how to proceed.
Thorfus wants Chuq to share the image of Jardin with all the party and the hirelings, so if anyone sees him, they can alert the rest of us. Also we have the image of “old” Jardin, and Thorfus want’s that shared, so if we see anyone like that, to alert the group. I also want to relay the information to Perette, and have Chuq impart those images to Perrette.
Chuq complies, training permitting.
Just so you know, the stash of items we left at Thornton’s had two broken Automonkeys in it.
Antony Nicklin I didn’t read the list, so we’ll get those fixed up.
Since those monkeys are completely non-functional, it won’t be possible to bring them back without replacing their central components (i.e., the processing cubes inside their skulls).
Ronin follows Thorfus around ,so he get as much information as possible for training, and Thorfus promised to fix Ronin up with a new set of duds. Ronin also reminds the group again about the old man in the bay and thinks this might just be the cherry on top. then Ronin tells the party that rumors of the Starchie boys. might just be forgotten if they put a bigger conspiracy out there that shadows the rumors about them.
As I understand it, we also have a single Monkey Brain Cube in Thornton’s stash.
Right, I didn’t use it since the circlet only allows control of 8 monkeys. Sounds like it is time to put it to use. 😉
1. Thorfus can recover his clothes from the hidey-hole after sending everyone outside the townhouse. They will need to be mended and pressed, which Clerica and Oswell Lallement (the clothiers next door) can do for 15GP.
2. During the day on Tanrilden 2, Thorfus can also hire a wagon and head over to Thornton’s estate with some hirelings to recover the items placed in storage. Thornton himself will not be available, but his head butler will arrange for the gear to be retrieved and also exchange the imperial coins at the usual one-for-one rate.
3. The sailors and hirelings are delighted by the bonus (18 hirelings; 290 of the original 400 sailors survived the expedition). Weswynelle Justither, the injured hireling, has no definite plans now that he can’t do mercenary or militia work. Of course, with the 100GP bonus, he’s not in immediate need and will return to his family in the Low Market leaving his address for Thorfus to contact him if there is something for him to do later.
4. Hanging around and asking questions at the Cock and Bull about Archer’s Irregulars will reveal that the group had a bit of a reputation. Apparently, they took a job last year investigating some monster that was burning fields east of Midmark (beyond the village of Southside). They killed a Pyrolisk but didn’t realize it had a mate that then went on a rampage and was stopped by another group after much destruction. Other than that, they seem like typical adventurers: explored some abandoned imperial outposts, found some treasure, caroused in town.
5. Hesse Stormer at the nearby Ark Sanctuary can provide Holy Water at the cost of 25GP for each vial.
6. Silver Weapons: Silver arrows can be bought from Gonore Bardeleve, a fletcher, for 1GP each (7 hirelings). silvered spears cost 100GP each (6 hirelings), silvered maces cost 110GP (1 hireling), Silvered pick 100GP (1 hireling), Silvered club 90GP (3 hirelings), Silvered scythe 90GP (1 hireling), silvered battle ax 120GP (1 hireling).
7. Giacomo always said he hailed from “a place of mystery and power” — which Thorfus thinks is the Harbor Market based on other offhand comments. He never spoke of family or a permanent residence, though.
8. Sharing the image of Jardin with the hirelings and party is no problem if Chuq is agreeable; you will need to find Perette during the game, though, since he’s not around when you ask at Thornton’s.
WickedWayz ! That sounds good to me; dress clothes from the Lallement’s will cost 150GP since it is a rush job for the evening of Tanrilden 2 (that night). Follow Me, And Die!, is that acceptable?
John Carlson Yes, it’s only money. 😉
from what we were told. i’m sure we will have plenty of that after splitting up the loot and the so called reward.i could pay for the clothes, its just that i grew up a slave, and lived on the streets my whole life i know nothing of formal fashion.and going from swordsman to hero i think it would be part of my training.
No problem, until we get the reward and cash in the loot, I had to cash a couple 1,000 gp gems.
I don’t want to cash in more of my portable loot, so I’ll leave the holy water until later.
I bought one silver handheld weapon for those hirelings with handheld weapons and 10 silver arrows for each archer. Thorfus will also get 10 silver arrows for himself.
Thorfus will also inquire to the condition of the bodies of Archer’s Irregulars. Were there wounds or anything unusual about their appearance. Thorfus will want to know who actually found the bodies and where. Were they all in one room, etc?
Seems a few silver finger sheaths, toe & heel caps, shin guards and for arm bands might be a worthwhile investment. Would an open frame wire design be acceptable John Carlson? More like jewelry, less like armor.
I have no problem with Chuq procuring silver gear, although I don’t know what other members of his Order might think. If you want what you describe to look decent and not crumple at the first punch, I think a cost of about 2000GP is fair and is something that Rowland the jeweler might be able to fabricate. In terms of practical effect, I would rule that these items would allow unarmed strikes against creatures requiring silver to hit, but no other effects. Those shin guards, arm bands, and the like have to be jewelry/ornamentation, though, given the restriction on armor for monks.
Great, Chuq will invest. Unarmed combat will outpace his weapon melee effectiveness from now on. He will pay for two sets of silver striking jewelry. Since Silver is comparatively soft, i image silver inlaid steal or some other metal alloy, no plates but an open intricate framing of the fingers, palms, backhands fore arms, shins, heels and top of feet. How many inventory slots for all that? He will consult Runnelbrook about enchanting a set.
Follow Me, And Die!: Archer’s Irregulars were uninjured, but looked as though they had aged considerably in their single night at Grell’s estate. They were also had expressions of absolute terror on their face — the majority in the main ballroom where they were encamped and the others scattered between there and the front doors (it seems like they may have been trying to flee something).
Rahm Benisaeko: I think two inventory slots should be fair for open-frame accouterments like you have described. Also, critical misses on unarmed strikes will cause damage leading to to-hit penalties until repaired by a professional (same as with other weapons). Of course, removing the striking jewelry would remove the penalty (i.e., the open-frame is bent and pinches/restricts movement until repair; when removed, the restriction/pinch is not an issue).
Aged? Possibly a desynch trap? We should plan a Thorfus/Chuq reconnoiter to detect Xeno Tel tech before entering.
What if it isn’t technology? We need to find out what kinds of creatures can do that. Ask Aldus, Feri, and at all the temples, if we have to.
